Together We Can Achieve President's Distinguished District.
Here are 3 areas I believe will support our District 33’s President’s Distinguished District goal.
1 - Embrace the STRENGTH of our STRUCTURE
2 - TAKE PRIDE in handling your duties & responsibilities
3 - SHARE the POWER of PRAISE..
When we follow the “proven” meeting format and leadership structure of our organization, we become “presidential”. By giving ONLY manual speeches, always having a “hip-pocket” speech, conducting regularly schedule executive committee (board) meetings, planning instead of “winging it”, and listening MORE than talking – YOU strengthen your communication & leadership skills. I believe “pride” comes from being educated, prepared, and willing. The more you do, the better you become, and the better you become, others will respect you.
Pride = respect
The power of praise is the beginning of miracles. “Thank –you” are the 2 most important words. Written notes have saved lives throughout the years. Hopefully, you have heard the many stories of students who were going to commit suicide in a few hours and how a teacher/fellow student showed kindness. A life was saved by kind words.
YES -- we have Big, Audacious Goals.. And I know the hearts and desires of many District 33 members. In my 17 years of learning, serving, and caring, I know beyond a shadow of doubt -- District 33 is by far the BEST DISTRICT in the world. We just need to put the numbers on the scoreboard for the rest of the world to know what I know in my heart about you - a District 33 Toastmaster..

District 33 Toastmasters, what an exciting year we have ahead of us!
Our goal for 2008 – 2009 is to be President’s Distinguished at all levels: clubs, areas, divisions and District!
First, thank you for your dedication and commitment to “Reach Beyond the Horizon” in 2007 - 2008! I believe District 33 Toastmasters exemplify the core values of Toastmasters International:
Integrity, Dedication to excellence, Service to the member and Respect for the individual.
Our 2007 – 2008 Area and Division Governors, appointed officers, club officers and Past District Governors did an extraordinary job of leading by example and achieving outstanding results. Please read the “District 33 Final Report for 2007 – 2008.”
Kudos to each Toastmaster who received an award last year. There are so many of you! Thank you for being part of the rich legacy of educational excellence in District 33!
The biggest lesson I learned from last year is the necessity to achieve results EARLY. This is essential for us to achieve Presidents Distinguished clubs, areas, divisions and District. Be sure to check out the “Super Early Bird” promotion under “What’s new”
Your club can get a Super Early Start on your Club Success Plan and earn a $25.00 gift certificate for the Toastmasters International Store.
RULES:
1. Achieve 4 or more Distinguished Club Program goals by October 31st
2. Completed DCP goals must include Goal #7 “Add four new members”
District 33 Toastmasters, we have much to celebrate and an exhilarating year ahead of us!
I look forward to seeing you at our District Conference on November 7th and 8th in San Luis Obispo. California.
With profound appreciation, Sherrie

“Together we can achieve President’s Distinguished!”
Together we can charter new clubs and keep our current clubs healthy. Do you have an idea for a new club, a location, or an area where a Toastmaster Club would prosper? Talk with your Area Governor and New Club Coordinator. Together, we can bring your prospect to charter strength. Together we can use our knowledge and talent to assure we are a President's Distinguished District with President Distinguished Divisions and Area.
We are committed to the growth of 30 new clubs this year. There are many opportunities for each member to support District 33 - each Division and Area.
Now is the time to volunteer - share your expertise, build teamwork skills, and prove yourself a valuable leader, while earning credit toward the Advanced Leader Silver award.
Together, we can reach our goals
I am in your service,
Phyllis Tribby, DTM
